The people of Japan are in our thoughts and prayers as this great nation struggles with the unprecedented impact of the massive earthquake and tsunami last Friday.
With 15 hotels and several thousand associates in Japan, this tragedy hits close to home for Starwood, and the well-being of our colleagues in Japan is of utmost concern.
3月11日金曜日、東北・関東地域を襲った未曾有の地震と津波の影響により、沢山の方がたが被災され辛い日々を送っていることに心よりお見舞い申し上げます。

We are fortunate that none of our hotels in Japan suffered structural damage, and our guests and associates are all accounted for following the earthquake and tsunami.
Today, most of our hotels in Japan are open and fully operational with the exception of The Westin Sendai which we have temporarily closed due to the absence of utilities and The Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay which we closed to guests because of the temporary closure of the adjacent Tokyo Disneyland.
